ARTIST OF THE WEEK

November 16th, 2009 by Lowrider Tattoo

Props to our homie Shade for forwarding this to us…The artist this week to look up is Dirk Dzimirsky. The German based fine artist has an uncanny and seemingly flawless technique in his renderings. His collections can be found scattered across the globe from Germany, Switzerland, Austria, France, and the US. Below are some examples…

dirk2

Charcoal on Canvas  56″ x 40″

dirk3

Charcoal on Canvas 40″ x 40″

dirk

Pencil on Paper 42 x54 cm

An astonishing body of work, Dzimirsky is definitely an artist to look out for. His technique in all mediums he approaches displays a defined knowledge in art. Check out more of his work at www.dirkdzimirsky.com..

ESTEVAN ORIOL AND LOWRIDER TATTOO

November 15th, 2009 by Lowrider Tattoo

With only a month and a half before the Grand Opening we are speeding up everything around the shop. Tattoo photography will be a big player in the design…. So who better to have do it than the world famous, Estevan Oriol.

estavon2

The beautiful black and grey photos will complement our studio and style of tattooing tremendously.

estavon4

I assure you that the final result will be breathtaking….. Estevan is one of the best in the field and teamed up with us…something is bound for glory.

estavon1

There still a lot more to come, not just for the shop, but for Angel and Estevan. I got the pleasure to be tattooing their entire backs…there’s nothing like the biggest canvas on the human body… Check back soon for the progress…

LA ANGEL LOVES ESTEVAN

November 12th, 2009 by Lowrider Tattoo

The homegirl Angel came in today to get her vato blasted on her.  It was a hard piece since Estevan is one of my good homies…but still we went to town.

stevan

it was hard to pick a good picture of Estevan even though angel had so many.  We picked one that showed off probably his best quality….Photography.  We first applied the stencil and then got to work.

stevan-start

After seven hours of intense work…the tattoo was over.  Angel was relieved.

stevan-finished

It was a fun day just like the many others the past few weeks.  We are fortunate to be tattoo artists, it is the best fucking job in the world.

the-homies-stevan

After the day was over we cleaned up and had to take one final picture with all the homies…..We also repd the new book LA WOMEN by Mister Estevan Oriol himself… make sure you check it out.  A special thanks to the homie big Flaco for twittering us all fucken day, and also our boy big bad Onki for coming in to talk about the much anticipated Lowrider Grand Opening. Its going to be the shit!

FINAL TOUCHES

November 11th, 2009 by Lowrider Tattoo

Today was probably the most exciting day so far.  The ceiling image came in today ready to be hung.  It was a mission but we got it done.sneak-peak-2

I got to tell you everything I envision is coming together just like I though it would. I cant stop thanking all of you who have contributed for this dream to become a reality.

sneak-peak-3

My boys Imper and Paige really went all out to make this happen, and are still working on some more little surprises for the shop.

sneak-peak

It took alot from all of us, even my client Travis who had his tattoo session stopped so that the huge mural could be hung……Thank you Travis for being understanding ill get you back on the next sess.

sneak-peak-4

Finally the finished product….Dayam, Its sick.  You have to come in and see it for your self, Another innovation brought to you by Lowrider Tattoo Studios.

MOSES

November 10th, 2009 by Lowrider Tattoo

Today, my good friend Steve came into the shop to finish up another piece on his leg.  This time, we worked on a Moses piece which was a great addition to his leg theme, which includes a Virgin Mary a couple of Angels.  The leg is coming together with the addition of the new piece. Clouds and a tombstone were added and the older pieces were touched up as well in order to give them more life.  There is still more to come on Steve so stay posted!

stevemoses1

Dennis, another good friend, flew out from Chicago to finish up the final session on his Foo Dog.
The Foo Dog, or “Lion of Asia”, is the ancient sacred dog who guards the Temple of Buddha.
This time, the dark tones were added to the piece allowing all the light sources to contrast with the dark shadows and give the piece an overall look of realism.

Dennis was amazed by the final look of his design.  He endured lots of pain and patiently waited all day to see the finished product. Customers were amazed by the final look of the Foo Dog and many artists and apprentices gained knowledge from the design and learned what they have to do in order to master their craft.

A VISION ACCOMPLISHED

November 6th, 2009 by Lowrider Tattoo

A vision always starts with an idea, an idea that sometimes takes an overly amount of time to accomplish. With perseverance and dedication, “Every dream can be achieved no matter how big or difficult it might seem”.

blog-pic5

“There is potential in even the darkest and ugliest of places”…. this also applies to people, I have witnessed great talent in people who others never cared to notice!  After a vision is composed you are half way down the road of victory.  The process then soon follows…

blog-pic4

“Sometimes the dictator of victory, for many will not go through it to the very end”...  Circumstances soon appear almost forcing you to give up…. but with the look of courage and the will to go to the very end….and in the faces of my team…it gives me the strength to not give up and continue to move on.

blog-pic-3

…an accumulation of ideas that arises from motivational passages or moments in ones life.

blog-pic2

By using a little of the old and mixing it with the new, you get some thing that is unimaginable… we bring you the new Lowrider Tattoo, an accumulation of hard work, sweat, and tears.  The collaboration of so many hard working individuals that  would not take no for an answer.  Even when it seemed impossible and we brought the stress on each other…we still moved on.

blog-pic-6

We here are proud to invite you to our Grand Opening of the the new Lowrider Tattoo Studio.

Join us for a day of laughs and good times.

Yours truly,

Jose Lopez

ARTIST OF THE WEEK

November 4th, 2009 by Lowrider Tattoo

“Michael Hussar creates unusually meticulous oil paintings with an old master technique. Trained by painters Richard Bunkall, Dwight Harmon, and Judy Crook; and draftsmen Harry Carmean and Burne Hogarth. Hussar, taught Portraiture-Head Painting for almost 10 years at a private art college in Los Angeles and continues to teach painting workshops in the United States and Europe. His paintings can be found in collections all over the world.”

michael-hussar-7

One of our favorite LA based artists, Hussar has worked with some great tattooers as well such as Paul Booth and Corey Miller…

michael-hussar-2

“…Inspired by Northern Renaissance Art and early Mannerism. At times his technique is buttery and has a feeling of a Diego Velazquez painting.”

Check out more of his stuff at www.michaelhussar.biz
