First, a big thank you to EVERYONE who came out to support the grand opening and art show of the new Lowrider Tattoo Studio, HQ. It took alot of hard work from everyone who was dedicated since the very first moment that the idea came to mind, and thanks to the strong team and YOU people to support it, together we made the night possible. I think the Lowrider Tattoo family can write an entire book on special thank you’s, shout outs, and why they are important, but I’ll let Jose do those special honors after this post. The basis for this event we called “Inspiration”, originally a purpose for individual artists to pay tribute to their specific mentors and artists. But it’s safe to say from everyone of Lowrider Tattoo Studios, the true inspiration is beyond any individual. To us, seeing and being together as a whole with all of you, is the real inspiration and is what this all about. THANK YOU. Here’s a look at just some of the moments of the show……

Homie Leroy came down from Belgium to promote the up and coming Belgium convention.  We had the honor of having him sign our door that many great artists have blessed with their signature. This Tattoo Convention will be the first ever to take place in Belgium and I assure you that it will not be the last one, we’ll do whatever is necessary to make it one of the best in Europe.  We thank our boy Leroy for taking care of us and extending us his invitation.

Our boy Carter came from London wanting to get a piece representing his father as a strong willed character…”Oceanus” in Greek, is believed to be the world ocean, an enormous river encircling the world.

While I was tattooing on Carter, his boy also got the urge to get tattooed. My lil Brother Gus went to town on him and tattooed  a small traditional style ship with his own twist on his shoulder. It was an unforgettable night and we won’t ever forget the look on Carter’s face….  To end the night he asked me to sign his tattoo, which is just a huge honor for anybody to ever ask….We thank you Carter for crossing an ocean to be with us here….We’ll be seeing you next month.

His artwork….a hybrid of dark, psychedelic, macabre, and horror…Hailing from the Netherlands, Thomas Kynst is one of those artists that has been developing his own creative mutations on skin and canvas that truly reflect his dark imagination. The realistic, surreal, and unreal….with the things that scream and bump in the night…but for the Lowrider event this Saturday…influence was his inspiration…check it out….

The closer we get  to our grand opening the more anticipation we get and also lots of surprises from many of the guest that will be attending.  Today our friend Lina showed up to turn her entree for the art show, for our surprise it was a portrait of myself…… I could not believe the realism of the drawing it looks so real it reminded me of one of our favorite artist Dirk Dzimirsky .  Everybody at the shop  was amazed and very inspired which is what we are trying to achieve with our art show next weekend.

Im sure Lina will become one of the best in the next years to come for she has all that is necessary…..So be sure to check out her work at myspace.com/tattsbylina, come and say hi to her at the Grand Opening.

I would like to take this opportunity to say a few words, There is so much good people all around us and we dont even see them or sometimes we choose not to acknowledge them.  If we just took one second and used it to be inspired or to put our self in those people shoes and learn from them rather than trying to compete  I Know  we would start to understand how beautiful learning is… For we can learn from even the simplest of men.  For the true test of self confidence is having the courage to acknowledge, and to be open to new ideas regardless of their source.

While reading the latest issue of Inked Magazine,  I came across a picture of my good friend and fellow tattoo artist, Laura Satana.  In honor of the magazine’s second year anniversary, they put out a spread of lovely ladies for us to ogle at.  They succeeded by adding this striking pose taken by Armen Djerrahian.

Dazzling and Classy are the best words used to describe the beautiful Laura Satana.  Not only is she stunning, she’s also incredibly talented.  Laura’s tattoo work ranges from fine line black and grey to traditional.  She is an all around good artist and we are thrilled to have her in our part of the world for our grand opening party.

The Homie Rosendo came in to get a Picture from an old Mexican Poster called El Bandido it took us quite a bit of time since the detail was too much. Ater a few hours the final piece was done.

I  got to work some more on my good friend Danny who is getting a sick  leg piece complements of his brother and also good friend of the Lowrider family Robert Lopez.  This is going to turn heads once is done dont miss out check back for more progress.

A workhorse at heart, Carlos Rojas has been captivating tattooing and fine art for quite sometime now. An elegance in black and grey as well as color, Rojas is a strong and well rounded artist…with a technique and hunger for more…

I recently came across an old article about my accident and it reminded me of my struggle to get to where I am today.  Eventhough I was confined to my wheelchair, I always kept my head up and persevered with anything I put my mind to.

I hope that by reading this article, it may inspire and help you with your struggles.  If you want something, take it.  Don’t let anything or anyone tell you that you can’t do anything.  You must drill through any obstacles and take what you deserve.

We all have dreams. Some of us reach them soon, for others, it take a lifetime to achieve.  A lot of us face rigorous tasks in order to get what we want in life, but when you reach them, life becomes worth well living.
